BBI: Wealth of Russian billionaires falls by $2.4 bln Jan–Apr
MOSCOW, May 3 (PRIME) -- The combined wealth of 25 Russian billionaires fell by U.S. $2.4 billion in January–April, Bloomberg said in a report accompanying its Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on Tuesday.
The index is calculated basing on capitalization and financial reports of companies owned by the businessmen, or on a ratio between capitalization and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) or a ratio between a share price and earnings per share.
Alexei Mordashov, the majority shareholder of Russian steelmaker Severstal, remained the wealthiest businessman with assets rising by $427 million to $20.1 billion.
Vladimir Lisin, the key beneficiary of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), ranked second with the wealth rising by $914 million to $18.9 billion.
The fortune of Leonid Mikhelson, CEO of independent gas producer Novatek, rose by $1.18 billion to $17.8 billion.
The wealth of Oleg Deripaska, owner of En+ Group, GAZ Group, Basic Element (BasEl) and RUSAL dropped by $4.01 billion to $4.65 billion after the U.S. sanctions.
